Sarah & James

Sarah Doran and James Nicholson hail from Big Baddeck, Cape Breton. Part-time performers with a full-time love of music, they spend much of their time balancing family life with rehearsals and performances, often shuttling their young daughter between hockey practice and dance
lessons.

Sarah moved to Cape Breton from PEI after accepting the Music Teacher position at Baddeck Academy, where she built the band program from the ground up, created a school choir, and teaches every grade from primary to twelve.

James is a born-and-bred Caper, deeply rooted in Cape Breton’s traditional music while also drawing from folk, country, and classic rock influences developed over more than twenty years of performing.

With guitar, piano, saxophone, and harmonized vocals, Sarah and James treasure the chance to step away from busy schedules and create music together.
